Clients all over the world depend on this Battle Creek marketing fulfillment company to produce and ship a variety of printed commercial and game products (puzzles, games, flashcards, etc.) As a Digital Prepress Specialist, you’ll be responsible for preparing and producing print files for printing on the presses. Attention to detail, willingness to learn, and the ability to work at a steady pace are keys to success in this entry-level role.
A typical day in this role includes:
- Prepare files for various digital and offset printing equipment
- Layout, image manipulation and prepress production for digital color and black and white output
- Produce proofs/mockups of projects for customer review and approval
- Maintain current knowledge of electronic prepress and print technology
- Communicate ideas and suggestions to help improve current processes
- Database manipulation as well as variable data setups. Knowledge of USPS postal regulations
- Coordinate with Production Team to produce and prioritize jobs and, when necessary, reorganize to meet deadline changes/updates.
- Participate as a key player in the Production Team by supporting operations as needed
- Communicate effectively with the General Manager/Owner, the Production Manager, the sales team, and the production team, inform and updating them regularly to guarantee that sales objectives and customer objectives are met
Let’s chat about the Digital Prepress Specialist position if you:
- High school diploma/GED with experience, vocational/technical certification or equivalent work experience/on the job training
- Proficient on Mac/PC computers and page layout programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat with Pitstop, Quark Xpress)
- Vocational/technical degree in graphic arts
- Knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel
- Must be self-motivated, reliable, and quality and safety oriented.
- Strong interpersonal skills and mathematical skills
- Ability to apply written instructions and handle multiple projects
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds, reaching, bending, walking, standing, stooping, pulling and pushing with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must be available for overtime during the week, and on weekends when needed.
We offer Digital Press Operators:
- A pay rate of $15 – $18/hour
- Full time, 1st shift (Monday through Friday, 8 am-5pm) with the possibility of occasional overtime.
