We’re caught in a bind and hiring ASAP. This leading publishing company in Grand Rapids is looking for Bindery Assistants to join their team! As a Bindery Assistant, you are responsible for aiding in the production of materials in the bindery area by packing, labeling and finishing product at the binding stage, helping load machine pockets, keeping bindery machines running by off-loading product and helping out on other bindery equipment.
A typical day as a Bindery Assistant includes:
- Performing a variety of hand operations such as gathering and inserting materials for binding
- Loading machines with printed signatures
- Removing printed signatures and books from machinery to pack for shipment
- Maintaining production, quality, and report standards set by the company
- Performing general housekeeping tasks
- Adhering to safety rules and procedures at all times

- Have a high school diploma or equivalent work experience
- Maintain a steady working pace without sacrificing quality
- Can read and execute simple instructions
- Are able to accurately add, subtract, and count
- Understand the importance of a safe working environment
- Don’t mind the workout that comes with lifting/moving 15-25 lbs regularly
We offer Bindery Assistants:
- A pay rate of $16-$17/hour
- Full-time work on all shifts
- A $100 bonus when you refer a friend to WSI
