As a Wood Prep Finisher, you’ll sand, trim, glue, attach, and shape components destined for public libraries and educational spaces. This company produces library, education, and commercial furniture in Grand Rapids, sourcing wood locally and blending handcraft with modern processes.

You’ll trim and sand joints to prep pieces for finishing, attach parts using glue, dowels, screws, or clamps, measure for conformance, and run or set up shop machines and hand tools like sanders, routers, and edge banders. At times you’ll flex across departments to meet demand and follow shop orders or templates.

We Offer This Position:

$16.00 to $18.00 per hour (depending on experience)
5:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Thursday or Monday through Friday 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
Weekly pay
A $100 bonus for every friend you refer to us, plus an additional $25 bonus for your referral to WSI
Opportunity for permanent hire based on performance

Requirements for this position include:

Proven experience sanding, trimming, laminating, and operating woodworking tools safely
Ability to read templates, shop drawings, and follow instructions precisely
Must be able to speak, write, and read basic English
Comfortable working on your feet all day; bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, twisting
Capable of lifting regularly 10–50 lbs, and occasionally 100+ lbs
Self motivated, detail oriented, and eager to learn new skills
