Steel does not forgive mistakes. Every bend shows the truth of your setup, your measurements, and your judgment. That is the quiet pressure of life as a Press Brake Operator, and for people who take pride in getting it right, that pressure feels earned. This role lives on the shop floor, shaping flat metal into parts that end up bolted into real equipment, not showroom props. You will read prints, set tooling, and watch the angle come in clean. There is satisfaction in hearing the brake cycle and knowing the part will pass inspection the first time. This is hands-on manufacturing where skill still matters, even in an age of touchscreens and buzzwords. If you enjoy steady work, clear expectations, and machines that respond to experience, this job will feel familiar in the best way.
This Grand Rapids manufacturing facility produces formed metal components used across multiple industrial markets. The operation focuses on precision fabrication, consistent output, and shop floor safety. The environment is straightforward, production driven, and built around dependable people who show up and know their craft.
You’ll set up and operate press brake machines, select and install dies, adjust stroke and back gauges, read blueprints, inspect finished parts for accuracy, and maintain safe operation while producing repeat and complex formed metal parts to specification.
