At 2:00 in the morning, while most of Kentwood is asleep, someone has to climb a lift and wash down a food production line so clean you could eat off it. That someone is the Sanitation Specialist. This job is not glamorous, but it is essential. Every cereal bag, snack pouch, and ingredient that leaves the building depends on your work being done right. You will handle chemicals, hoses, forklifts, and high platforms. You will shut lines down, tear them apart, clean them, and bring them back to life. If you have a steady work history, a can do attitude, and do not mind getting wet and a little sore, this work pays off.
This Kentwood facility is part of a large-scale food manufacturing operation that produces dry food products distributed across the country. The plant runs around the clock with strict food safety standards and detailed sanitation systems that support national retail and ingredient supply chains.
Your shift revolves around cleaning and resetting production lines. You may operate lifts and forklifts to reach silos and overhead areas, mix and dilute cleaning chemicals, document line cleanups, inspect equipment, manage sanitation schedules, and enforce food safety rules across the plant.
