Quality Technician | Food Safety & Inspection
Location: Kentwood, MI
Pay: $19.40 – $21.40 per hour (Based on shift/experience)
Shifts Available: 1st (7am–3pm) | 2nd (4pm–12am) | 3rd (11pm–7am)

At this facility, quality isn’t just a department—it’s the foundation of our brand trust. As a Quality Technician, you are the primary line of defense for food safety. You will feel the hum of a busy plant as you patrol production lines, turning raw data into critical decisions. This role requires vigilance, technical expertise in food safety systems, and the confidence to halt production when standards aren’t met.
Ideal Candidate Profile
To ensure production integrity, we are looking for seasoned professionals who meet these specific standards:

Manufacturing Depth: Minimum of 5 years of overall manufacturing experience. Experience in a food manufacturing environment is highly preferred.

Proven Stability: Demonstrated career commitment with a minimum of one year of continuous employment in at least 3 previous positions.

Machine Operation: Experience operating or monitoring industrial machinery is preferred.

Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GMPs, allergen control, and traceability.

Physicality: Experience with heavy lifting and the ability to walk/climb stairs extensively throughout an 8–10 hour shift.

Communication: Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking) to document results and communicate deviations to supervisors.
Your Impact & Responsibilities

Inspection: Perform hands-on in-plant inspections, testing, and line checks to verify specifications.

Enforcement: Champion GMPs and SQF elements; identify and escalate deviations to the Quality Supervisor immediately.

Documentation: Maintain meticulous records for traceability and document control using QA systems and Microsoft Office.

Partnership: Work side-by-side with production teams to drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Safety: Ensure 100% compliance with allergen and ingredient controls to protect the consumer.
