The first cut of the day decides whether the rest of the shift runs smooth or turns into a stack of scrap. As a Panel Saw Operator in this wood manufacturing facility, you stand at the point where raw sheet goods become real parts that builders and fabricators rely on. MDF, plywood, melamine, solid panels. They all pass across your table. Your measurements matter. Your focus matters. In a world where everything feels disposable, this is work that still demands precision. You read the cut list, square the sheet, and make it right the first time. No shortcuts. No guesswork. Just clean cuts and steady production.
This operation is a mid-sized wood products manufacturer based in Nunica, Michigan. The facility produces custom panels and components used in commercial and residential applications. The shop floor runs on teamwork, clear production schedules, and a steady demand for accurate, repeatable work.
Duties during your day would include: operating a panel saw to cut sheet goods to exact specifications, reading and following cut lists and work orders, verifying measurements before releasing parts, performing quality checks, tracking jobs in the ERP system, and maintaining organized material flow while reducing waste.
