Before most folks hit snooze, you’re already clocked in, loading steel and firing up the Wiedemann turret. You don’t need a crowd to crush it—just the hum of machinery, the sharp click of calipers, and the pride of knowing your parts don’t leave the shop unless they’re just right. In this role as Turret Operator, you’ll own a critical corner of the shop floor by setting up, running, and fine‑tuning turret punch machines before your first cup of coffee. Your day starts early—from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.—so if you’re an early bird who likes to beat the traffic, this is your rhythm. Every part you run becomes part of something bigger: weldments, structural assemblies, precision work—and your care with gauges, burr removal, and tooling set-up matters more than you might think..
You’ll work with a manufacturing group in Kentwood that’s been turning raw materials into finished parts for over 120 years. The firm offers metal fabrication, CNC machining, wood fabrication, finishing, assembly, and more under one roof.
You will load and clamp stock, perform a dead stop/zero point reset, inspect slug marks or edge defects, remove finished parts, break and stack material, sand or deburr edges, set up punch die tooling, and use calipers, tape measures, gauges, and your eye for angles to hit specs.
