As a Laboratory Technician in a busy dyehouse, your day revolves around precision, judgment, and the quiet pressure of getting it exactly right the first time. Every formula you mix becomes part of a finished product someone will see, touch, and judge. You will measure, test, and adjust until color matches are exact, knowing production depends on your call. If you have ever trusted your eye more than a screen and still double checked the numbers, you already understand the rhythm here. It is hands on, exacting work that rewards focus and consistency.
This production focused textile operation in Kentwood runs a dedicated dyehouse supporting yarn manufacturing at scale. The facility blends laboratory precision with floor level production, supplying consistent color standards and quality materials for downstream manufacturing processes in a structured, team driven environment.
You will prepare dye formulations, measure liquid and powder chemicals, and run lab trials. You will compare results to standard samples, adjust formulas, perform quality testing on materials, manage yarn assignments for dyeing, and keep the lab clean, safe, and organized.
What we offer the Laboratory Technician position
Pay: $23 to $27 per hour based on experience
Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm

Qualifications for this position:
Bachelor’s degree or at least 2 years of manufacturing or laboratory experience
Ability to pass a Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue Test with a score of 16 or better
Must be able to speak, write, and read basic English
Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
Solid math and analytical ability
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand most of the shift
Must not have a wool allergy
